In this episode of “The Collection,” host Mark Agnesi is in Nashville, Tennessee, to check out the awe-inspiring collection of his friend and boss, Cesar Gueikian. An avid guitar collector for years, since becoming Brand President of Gibson Brands, Cesar’s collection has grown exponentially. Cesar discusses how the guitars and record collection of his father influenced him and how the debut Black Sabbath album ignited his desire to learn how to play. Cesar also describes how he purchased his first Gibson guitar with money he earned from playing in a tennis tournament. Cesar displays many of the guitars in his collection of over 130 guitars, including a 1964 ES-335TDC, 1961 Les Paul SG Junior, an extremely rare 1962 Les Paul Special, 1958 and 1959 Les Paul Customs, an exceptionally clean 1959 Les Paul Standard, a 1963 Hummingbird, and a Pelham Blue 1967 ES-330. He also showcases his Gibson Custom Shop Collector’s Edition ’58 Korina Flying V, 1982 Silverburst Flying V, and 1981 Silverburst Flying V Bass, as well as his Adam Jones 1979 Les Paul Custom, the Slash Vermillion prototype, and the Tony Iommi Monkey SG prototype. Cesar also shares his thoughts about the current state of Gibson and what it’s like to be Brand President of Gibson. He also talks about the responsibility he feels as a custodian of the brand’s legacy, and of his guitar collection. As if that wasn’t enough, there are also special guest appearances from Richie Faulkner and Dave Mustaine, making this episode an absolute must-watch for guitarists, fans, and collectors. #gibson #davemustaine #richiefaulkner #cesargueikian
